Rose Anna Zook has watched her two older sisters marry two Stoltzfus men
and has always thought she and John, the third Stoltzfus brother, would
marry, make a home together, and have children. But John has other
ideas. He's enjoying his Rumschpringe in the Englisch world a little too much and isn't interested in returning to the Amish community—especially to marry.
Rose
Anna is determined to bring her man back into the Amish fold. John is
equally determined to live his life free and unencumbered. Who will win
this battle of wills? Will love prevail?

Rose Anna is a single woman in the present-day Amish community of Paradise, Penn., where marriage is the primary focus of life. She has her heart set on John Stoltzfus, the man who broke her heart by choosing the Englisch world over life with her. Determined not to lose him, Rose Anna devises a plan to bring him back to the community and to her heart, despite strict Amish teachings that go against such boldness in a woman. John, however, is thoroughly enjoying his rumschpringe, or “running around time,” and has no desire to return to his roots. While searching for his life calling, he tries to convince himself that Rose Anna and the Amish are not what he wants. But when Rose Anna’s plan to win him back begins to work, he starts to see the calling that God had before him all along. Cameron (Coming Home series) sets this sweet romance between old friends in idyllic Amish country, with many Amish phrases and customs that create an authentic charm.

John Stoltzfus is proving to be a challenge for Rose Anna Zook. After her two sisters married his brothers (recounted in Return to Paradise and Seasons in Paradise respectively), Rose Anna imagined John would follow suit with her. Unfortunately, a taste of the English secular world during his rumspringa (rite of passage) makes John uncertain about returning to the traditions of his community. But stubborn Rose Anna will not be deterred. She is determined to get her man at all costs. VERDICT With its hopeful, spiritual message, likable characters, and perspective on an unfamiliar lifestyle, this final volume in Cameron's "Coming Home" trilogy is a captivating read for fans of the series and Linda Byler.
